Check the feet of the follower for casting residue or anything else that would prevent it from reaching full depth. Have had no troubles with the UMC on the range, nor any trouble with Blazer Brass. Slide a new cartridge base up the face of the breech and under the extractor claw. It should move smoothly with a bit more pressure as it slides under the extractor claw. The claw should hold the cartridge in place for light shaking. Inspect the extractor claw closely looking for evidence of breaks or chipping.The 380 uses the same 9mm lower frame, FCU and excellent trigger (a shortcoming on many 22LR kits can be a different trigger). So swapping over would literally take only seconds.
