This is my first time to post on the forum so here goes, I am thinking of selling my antigua winds 582LQ soprano sax and going for an upgrade to the yanagisawsa version but have come across a Yamaha YSS-61 soprano and wondered if anyone out there has played this vintage sax. Any problems with this saxophone,or should I ...Just got my 110B (that I've been waiting for since late January) from Ron today. While waiting I tried modifying a yamaha 5C with a baffle, tried a Runyon quantum 9, and a HR berg 110/1. The RPC beats them all. Projection has always been a problem in the upper registers for me on bari-the harmonic content of the RPC makes it cut!With the 55 tenor now firmly in his clutches, I'm off to find one of my own and maybe a 55 alto for his next birthday. It's going to be a joy watching and listening to him grow as a musician. One of the few true joys of being a dad!
