Also correct placement is about anatomy- septum piercings are done through the alar cartilage which is the thin connective cartilage at the tip of those nose. Cup some water in your hands (or use a glass) , stick your nose in and blow bubbles. That will rinse the inside of your nose. Make sure to not let the waterspray hit the piercing directly. Then use some non woven gauze to soak up any moisture.Then use the tip or edge of a piece of non woven gauze to soak up any moisture and carefully wipe away softened gunk and dry your piercing. I liked Boston Tattoo Company when I went for my daith piercing; would recommend them for sure. As for pros/cons, I can only speak to the daith, but the healing time is fairly long for cartilage piercings like that because it doesn't get a ton of blood flow. Hoops are okay but studs will make the healing process so much easier and likely faster!
